Different types of post drivers
In this section we will compare the different types of existing posts and post drivers, as well as their different uses, such as driving tubes, wooden poles and piles in steel and sheet piles for the creation of barriers or road signs, fences, anchors, and riverbank defense.

The pictures below show us the complete range of post drivers that can be powered by a compressor, a hydraulic unit, an existing hydraulic source (tractor or shovel), or autonomously (thermal).
The picket posts are listed under three main groups:
1- Manual post drivers
1A- Pneumatic pole driver
Pneumatic pushers are the easiest to use. They have a long service life and require simple maintenance. They adapt to all types of square or round profiles up to 160 mm.
Operating by compressed air, they require a flow between 800 and 1500 l / min. Their weight varies from 25 to 65 kg (with guide).
1B- Thermal pole driver
They operate autonomously with an integrated engine.

They are used to insert road signs (road signs, guardrails), poles, and wooden stakes into the ground.
These pole drivers provide a stable, powerful, and fast drive for square or round profiles up to 120 mm diameter. They can also be used for creating boreholes / soil coring.

Utilization advice for the Hydrochoc
+ Do not hit with the mast on the ground
+ Hammer bell must be hammering one pole at a time. Heavy greasing of the bell can damage the hammer at start-up
- Nitrogen pressure check: once a year.

3 - Pole drivers tracked or on trucks
Self-propelled crawler, truck-mounted or lift-mounted hydraulic on pile masts that have been converted into wood / steel / cast iron piles for the installation of guardrails, foundation for photo voltaic fields, timber management and fencing ( career, paddock, ...), maintenance and development of vines (trellising, mooring ...)
This off-road solution brings high production capacity with one user.
3A- ORTECO Tracked pole drivers
ORTECO machines can drive all types of poles with precision thanks to their stability and maneuverability and with a lot of power thanks to their hammers from 600 to 1000 joules. They are equipped with a soundproof engine and a hydraulic system ensuring full autonomy.
As standard, these trolleys equipped with rubber tracks not only allow off-road work but also road use without deterioration of the road (optional equipment with steel tracks optional).
The mast of these bells is adjustable in all dimensions. It is also equipped with a translation to work beyond obstacles (ex: ditch, sidewalk ...).
Once folded ORTECO threshing mats can be loaded easily on the truck bed using ramps or a crane (lifting point).

The truck-mounted masts allow faster intervention than the crawler version and provide good stability while driving the profile. Ideal for repair work or threshing small linear.
We find the same hammers and options as on the crawler versions. They can be driven by the truck's existing hydraulic source or an ORTECO hydraulic unit.
3C- ORTECO threshing rods mounted on crane arm / shovel
The mast mounted on crane arm is the ideal solution for repair work because very fast and easy to mobilize.
The mast mounted on the shovel arm is the ideal solution and the most economical for people already equipped with a shovel.
We find the same hammers and options as on the crawler versions.
They can be driven by the existing hydraulic source of the excavator / crane or by an ORTECO hydraulic unit.
