Finger-jointed robinia: decking, cladding and joists

Robinia rarely grows straight over long lengths. To produce long, stable, defect-free boards, we finger-joint the timber: short, narrow boards, known as strips, are cut clear of defects, then joined end to end with finger joints and glued. The result: boards of 2 to 6 m, planed on all four faces.
